I dunno... it's too early to tell, but I'm really not that enthused by the new Trek movie. Prequels are almost always FTL.

The TOS characters have been established for over forty years. I don't like the idea of having other people play those roles.

Besides (and Daniel can probably answer this better than I can), isn't it true that Kirk & Spock never met before they served on the Enterprise?

I'll go see it and probably be excited by that point but right now...I just want something new from Trek. TOS was great & the original characters are CLASSIC but new writers with a new story of old characters seems lame.

JJ says the script is awesome & SO DOES NIMOY! I was pretty shocked by that. He's in the movie too...as Spock. Who knows how that works.

I didn't figure MOST of the crew met until they were all aboard the Enterprise so who knows. It better not suck.

I'd rather them make movies about the Enterprise crew (Enterprise TV show). That got AWESOME by its last two seasons. However, I'd be much more in favor of ALL new characters with an ALL NEW era of Trek.

I shall return to my statement I've been making since Enterprise first aired.

Trek sucks right now...mostly due to overexposure. It really needs to take a decade off, then people will positively clamor for its return. We totally O.D.'d on Trek ever since TNG ended.

I don't give a rat's butt about this movie. Trek has always been about characters, and the progress of humanity. I would have thought someone like JJ would realize that and write a new story, not rehash characters that really have nowhere left to go. The continuity problems with them meeting pre-1701 is just the dog shit icing on the suck cake.

It's a waste of time. Period.
