Ok guys. Ever since I got my new computer, I've had troubles installing games. Its not a hardware prob, I've checked. Through networking means I've been able to get games on my system but WoW is giving me tons of headaches. Not only does it crash constantly asking me to re-install but I can't install it in the first place. I've used CDs, DVD & copying it on the HD. I've even tried installing it network, it won't work. I bring this up today cuz every time I have to patch I have to go through hell to do it. What I have been doing is keeping an up to date version on my wifes lap top & then copying over the whole game to my computer. Its a patch job but not a fix. I need a fix, badly. Blizzard's tech site is crap. They have options to help but the site is messed up & erros, go figure. Can anyone help?! _________________

Write to Blizzard (email, not forums), maybe they'll exchange your install CDs for a newer copy... _________________

I'm definitely not a computer expert, but as anyone can attest to, I've had my fair share of problems over the years. Not as much as you, but more than the average Joe Schmoe.
For the life of me, unless there is a problem with your Windows, I can't imagine a problem that would be so pervasive in hindering installation of any and all games that's NOT hardware related. Maybe Jared or Todd would smack me in the face and call me a nubsauce, but I still think there has to be something amiss with yer machine.
Just out of curiosity, did you try uninstalling Windows and installing your games without a custom UI? |

Yes & it did not fix it.

How many parts in the "new" computer are leftovers from the old one besides the D drive?
Also, I need my DVD drive back before it gets infected with your OMGDEATH2TECHNOLOGY disease kthx. _________________

My Case, D drive & A Floppy Drive are the only things left over from the old system. The old system is Ethans now & is running better than ever actually. _________________

OK and the computer before the one you just replaced had the same D drive and floppy drive right?
I can't think of why either would cause problems, but it sounds like the D drive is the most likely suspect -- try removing it for a while and run off the C drive, I guess...
Anybody know if these problems could come from his D drive not being set as the slave? _________________

My D drive is fine & it is set as slave. Sorry to sound rude but I've tried all this stuff. I'll let you guys know when you bring up something that I haven't.
Brians has been the only NEW idea, lol. _________________
