Okay, so I bought the new MK yesterday (as Adam pointed out, I originally hadn't planned on it this soon, but was "in the neighborhood") and here is a quick heads-up review in case anyone cares...no spoilers.

Teh Goodz:
- So Many Characters!
- Play as people you never could before!
- Air Combat is good!
- The Endings are better than usual.
- Create a Kombatant is VERY detailed. I already made Schizm.
- The Krypt TELLS YOU what you're unlocking!
- Motor Kombat is crazy! We have to play this at the LAN!
- Create-a-fatality isn't quite CREATING a fatality, but it is a shiny new system that is really cool and fairly easy to use. I can get a level 4 fatality so far, but haven't figured anything else out yet.
- The deathtraps are back, and funnier than ever!
- Opening Cinematic, OMG!
- Not hard to make money at all.
- Blaze is the easiest endgame boss yet (Not to say he's easy, tho)

Teh Bad:
- Combo Breakers...I like 'em, but the computer (even on easy) gets them off WAY too much.
- The computer plays too defensively, and just waits for afore mentioned breakers.
- They changed my precious Sub-Zero's combo set, and now I don't like it as much. Booooooooo! At least Frost is back, and she rocks!

That's it...can't wait to see what characters come out of this game.

well, the Sef Tourny is going to be Motor Kombat. Way to ruin it Damin! Anyway, I'll set up a simple bracket. Everyone plays or they get ridiculed for wussing out. Its just a mario cart type of game. L2P! I like the game. Konquest is easy & fun but every so often has an incredibly difficult part that is WAY out of line from the rest of the game & someone should be fired over it. The story is awesome tho.

I agree with Damin on everything else. Hopefully we can get some people to play at the LAN. I like playing against people & no one ever wants to play except Damin & I. Oh well, yer goin down Damin! Heh, we should play where we pick each others characters to fight! wewt.

I started Konquest last night, and I have to say it's the first part of MK:A that I really can't say anything good about.

The story is okay...no complaints, it's standard corny stuff, but that's the MK style. The problem is the horrid controls and camera angles. The camera doesn't follow (well) and you need to use the 2nd stick just to keep the camera in position. Also, people attacking from all angles with no viable area defenses really sucks. I know they were shooting for Shaolin Monks style combat....but it's nowhere near that game. Adam's absolutely right, too, there are some parts that are very tough...too tough for the learning element of the game.

I probably will not finish or even play Konquest again.

I'm still loving everything else, though.

I finished Konquest. The only part that gave me a real fit was the Training Obelisk #3. I gave up after the 20th! try!!!! However, to unlock Taven, Daegon & Blaze, ye have to play through Konquest & get relics n'stuff. The story was fun. It gave a good perspective on where most of the MK people are leading up to the begining video. Infact, the end of Konquest mode is the begining of the intro video for the game. Good stuff. I'm loving the endings to everyone too. I hate that they don't have the fun pictures to go along with the story but the endings are very good. You can tell who they are going to keep. However, ye need to beat it with Taven & tell me what ya think Damin. Interesting ending for him. He'll probably be the true true ending.

You must be progressing faster through the players than I am. I play usually one to three characters per day, but of course lost time due to drill weekend.

So far so good on the endings. I'm not sure that I can immediately tell who I think they'll keep and who they won't...perhaps we could devote a thread to discussing the endings? We could label each post with the character name, so that if the other hasn't played it yet, he won't get spoilers Cool

If I were to go by how the endings go, I'd have to guess that my favorite character is not coming back as of right now, and that doesn't sit well with me.

And BTW, I've finally decided that my favorite characters in terms of movesets so far are definitely Frost and Motaro, though I do like Sonya still. They nerfed poor Sub-Zero/Scorp almost into the ground...

I think Scorp is still amazing!

I loved Scorps ending

I loved Lui Kangs ending

Frost was ok.

Sub-Zero was ok.

Chameleon was alright.

Kitanas was great.

Taven's was interesting. Predictable for the most part but had a little surprise that leaves a WIDE gap in the story line for the next gen MK games.

More to discuss later!

Sub Zero's was a bit disappointing

Scorpion's was great.

Liu Kangs was good.

Frost's was about what I expected, nothing special.

Motaro's was good.

Shao Khans was good, but exactly what I figured it would be.

Sonya's was okay.

Reptile's was probably the best I've seen yet.

I think that's everyone I've played so far...

Well, Schizms was the absolute bomb...but it helps that I wrote it!!!!

Dude, that's pretty standard fare for a restaraunt of that type on it's "Grand opening".
My first two weeks at Max & Erma's we didn't get out until 2:30ish.

It'll settle down and you'll probably be getting out within an hour or so of closing...at least that's what I'll bet.

KK...more opinions...

Since Konquest is key to unlocking 4 characters and mutliple arenas, I decided to give it another shot. I ended up liking it better than before, though some part irritated the hell out of me...they included:
- Trying to kill the Archers while Catapults are attacking me.
- The guys with the lightning field
- Throwing the Scorpion minons at the huge flaming skulls (that part took me forever!)
- Any obelisks after the first I skipped completely after trying and getting hugely fed up with them.

I unlocked Tavin, Daegon, and Meat...not Blaze tho. I missed like 13 artifacts, apparently, and I have no idea where the heck they could be. I'm loathe to play through again...

Tavin's ending is very good, and the best shot so far at being the actual ending.

Raiden's ending is good, if disturbing.
