University Title Graphic Designer Working Title Graphic Designer Department Office of Student Life-Campus Dining Svc Admin Department Location Columbus Requisition Number 363238 Summary of Duties Uses desktop publishing software for layout and print-ready material production; designs materials involving graphic, typographic and photographic solutions, including but not limited to: web and other electronic materials, menus, newsletters, brochures, invitations, multi-media presentations, schedules, displays, signage, exhibits, manuals, forms and development and sponsorship materials. Works with Dining Services Marketing Manager to determine creative direction, plans, estimates and timetables for projects; coordinates design phase and production of artwork, including securing of production estimates, logos/photography/vector-images, submission of layouts and design for approval, supervision of any student designers, and keeping projects on schedule. Adheres to and supports the design standards for Student Life; provides production support with template layouts and a range of production services; coordinates the archival system for cataloging digital files, produced materials and photography; may be required to work some nights and weekends. Additional Information Requires successful completion of a background check. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in design with visual communications major or degree from an accredited design or art institute with a graphic design major; computer proficiency on IBM and MAC based platforms; as well as proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Desired Qualifications Work experience and knowledge of design principles desired (or equivalent combination of education and experience in a graphic design environment); experience in other multimedia production venues (web sites, CDs, video); knowledge of professional printing standards and previous experience working with professional printers.
