Just in case you missed it...
I tuned in to watch the 9 p.m. repeat tonight, and instead found Lou Dobbs. I was dismayed! After browsing the TV schedule for a while, I looked Glenn's show up online, and found out that he was changing networks...to FOX!
He will be taking over their 5 p.m. timeslot. I'm pretty happy with this.
The Good: He'll have a MUCH larger audience as Fox News has nearly double the audience of the other 3 major news networks combined. The more prosperous Glenn is, the longer he'll be around - obviously a good thing. It will also eliminate the need for me to save HNN as a favorite channel...as Glenn was the only reason I ever watched that...unless I was up early and wanted to catch a glimpse of the always yummy Robin Meade.
The Bad: Since he's no longer the voice of reason in the viper pit, we'll no longer have the feeling that "one of our own" has breeched the walls of the media elite. However, since Fox completely dominates in the ratings, the very definition of who is "elite" is obviously in question.
The ???: So now all we need is for Lou Dobbs, and maybe a few others to come on over to Fox, and I can pretty much stop watching the other networks altogether. Unless, of course, I'm feeling like slumming it (which actually does happen quite often, as I find myself watching Larry King, or even Olberman). |
