Okay, so yesterday I found out that the base would be shutting down for the weekend...no drill. The snowstorm produced some of the worst roads I'd seen in a long time. However, since I already paid for a hotel room for the week, and am getting reimbursed, I decided to stay over and not chance the drive back to Columbus.

Not the best move.

Now, there is absolutely no way I'm getting out of here. In fact, walking out of the hotel room is a challenge. What's worse is that I have very little in the way of food. I took a 20 minute hike to the gas station (Just down the hill), only to find the shopette closed, as are all of the other businesses nearby. Thank goodness I managed to snag a bundle of bananas before I left base, as that's pretty much my meals for the day...well, that and the hotel coffee.

*sigh* at least I have internet, tv, and my hard-drive full of Frasier episodes.

aye, good luck mate!

I'd advise getting out as soon as you can, lol. Things should be better on Sunday.
