Ravage's RAW Review:
I wasn't going to do this, but since I'm here...
- Opening McMahon family picture segment was amusing at best, irritating at worst. HHH comedy bits always go too far, and this was no exception. However, he had an awesome line with "There goes the money". Also, anyone else notice Sunny is suddenly kinda hot again? She's really come a long way since the last few pictures of her I've seen. Good for her.
- What an excellent ladder match. Pretty brutal as well, as it was spot after spot for most of it. I don't understand why Carlito can't always be that good. In big matches, he's awesome, but tends to be boring in less important matches.
- HBK looks like Kid Rock now. Marty Jannetty is on meth.
- Totally unrelated, but the Alien Vs. Predator previews set to Christmas music totally made me LOL.
- Wow, RVD! I totally wasn't expecting that. This should have been an actual match, not a squash. It was suprising, though, and that alone can make a segment good.
- Evolution reunion was okay. Nothing too great, and I wanted to hear more of the Evolution music! However, I did think the HHH/Batista tandem spinebusters was pretty darn sweet.
- Well, nice to see they made good use of Molly Holly...for all of 2 seconds.
- I knew Hogan was around tonight, and saving Hornswoggle was a good use of him. The segment was good, but I really REALLY thought that there was nobody better to come out to help Hornswoggle than Big Show. A missed opportunity.
- AWESOME Battle Royal! The participants were so random! LOL @ Gillberg! Seeing the worm is great in a comedy match, as was the whole ending with IRS and the Million Dollar Man...Classic!!!!
- Not the best of segments from Bischoff/Jericho. Not bad, but both of those guys can do way better. It was still great to see Bischoff again, he's always been one of my favorite characters, and possibly the best actor in wrestling ever.
- Um...So Cody and Holly are the Tag Champs. I guess every show needs its disappointments.
- Again, a little bit of a suprise. I knew Trish was around, but Lita was a complete suprise for me. That was a good segment. I wish it had involved more of the Divas, and ideally more of the important ones like Candace, Mickie, Milena and Beth. Oh well, it was still good, and Trish still has amazing...talents.
- I'm totally digging all these flashbacks. Very well put together video packages. The comic relief one had me rolling. "I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay"
- OMG, Kane talking about the weather. That in itself was weird.
- Kennedy and Marty was alright. DX reunion was expected. Meh.
- Did anyone not see Vince naming himself the greatest superstar? What I didn't expect was Undertaker, but I really should have. Good ending segment. STSA gets a little old, because he comes back all the time. They seriously needed Rock tonight...but I guess we can't have everything.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was more a trip down memory lane than an actual episode of RAW, but it was well worth it. LOL @ Regal with the coke. The show was near perfect. If only they could have gotten the Rock and Brett to make appearances (not to mention Cena and Big Show), it would have been. It was also kind of a shame that folks that obviously played a HUGE role in RAW history like Angle, Christian, Goldust and Booker T couldn't take part. It's times like these I wish one-night-only deals would be worked, for the sake of the fans.
Anywho, an A for the evening. |
