That leaves LOST and Criminal Minds. I probably won't even watch CM anymore, because it was on after, oh, that's right, JERICHO. Broadcast TV has NOTHING else to offer, and I won't put faith in a broadcast TV show ever again. Damned idiots. "duuuhhhh ratings dropped after the mid season hiatus!" No, REALLY Sherlock?? WTF did you EXPECT to happen?? Why can't you people STAND BEHIND your shows -- like you USED to -- instead of throwing shit at the proverbial wall and hoping something sticks?? Even then, when something DOES stick, you make us wait 6 weeks in the MIDDLE OF THE F'N SEASON before we can see the rest!
I can't even get pissed about this anymore. I should have learned my lesson after Firefly four years ago. This is exactly why I'm not watching 24. If they cancel it before the story is finished, then the fans are SOL. If they don't, then I'll just buy (or rent & burn) the DVD season sets.
They've done this to us on so many shows:
Invasion
The Nine
Firefly
Drive
Sons & Daughters
Commander in Chief
and now Jericho.
To broadcast TV networks:

I had said several times that Jericho was the second best show on television, next to Heroes.
I'm on the verge of cutting most network TV out myself. Maybe I should watch Heroes on Sci-fi, just to stick it to NBC as well. |

A: This is on my XANGA.
B: NBC owns Sci-Fi...so there is not sticking it to them
3: Yeah, this whole thing (including TV in general) is the gay.
D: Dana needs to learn about 24. Each season is its own story. Thus, if its cancelled, its no REAL big deal as its not like LOST where each season continues a story. 24 is just a story about Jack Bauer. It follows his life, once a day, every year or so. Just thought you should know since using that in this argument doesn't really work. _________________

On that note, Alex now has seaons 1-5 of 24. I'm on season 3, and it's been...worth watching. Actually, it's quite good so far watching on DVD. It's definitely not a series I want to wait every week to see. Of course, I said that about LOST too, when I first started. |

I'm just finishing season 4. Downloading season 6. I plan on watching 7 next year on Fox.
EDIT:
I just finished Season 4 of 24. It was the best of the first 4. Infact, I'd rate them 4, 2, 3, 1. However, they're all good. I can't wait to start 5 & 6 (even tho I heard 6 was a bit of a let down, so much so that the producers of the show apologized & promised season 7 to be stand out)
just my 2 (or 3) cents. _________________

Good (sorta) news... Jericho may be coming back for 8 mid-season episodes to help wrap up the story:

Dumbest thing I've ever heard. Either cancel the show or don't. You don't cancel shows & then bring them back to wrap up stories. WTF MATE?!
CBS is retarded. Along with NBC, ABC, FOX & YOURMOMNEWSKTHX. _________________

Oh I disagree ... Nobody likes to be told a good story without hearing how it ends.
Don't forget that Alias was cancelled before the story was finished, but the fans complained so much that they decided to make several more episodes so Abrams could wrap up the plot.
When La Femme Nikita was cancelled by USA, the fans demanded that the story be wrapped up, so USA filmed 8 final episodes to finish the story. Some of those 8 were a few of the most satisfying episodes in the entire series!
TNT decided not to do anything to finish the Crusade storyline, and from what JMS has said about his intended plot for the show, it would have been AWESOME. But we didn't get to see any of it.
Here's the latest news today:

CBS mulls axing 'Jericho' after protests
By LYNN ELBER, AP Television Writer Tonight at 7:35 pm
Source: AP
Fans trumpeting the cause of CBS' canceled drama "Jericho" have caught the network's ear. CBS, deluged with calls, messages and shipments of nuts signifying viewer displeasure, is reconsidering its decision, a source close to the production said Tuesday.
The source spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment publicly. A decision on whether to bring the show back, probably for a midseason run, is imminent, the source said.
"We are tired of the networks (not just CBS) tossing aside quality programming," was the message carried by jericholives.com, one of several web sites protesting the cancellation. "Enough! We're going to fight for this one."
Clarke Ingram, a "Jericho" fan from Pittsburgh, Pa., and a spokesman for jericholives, said he was optimistic that CBS would find a way to revive the drama about a Kansas town isolated by a nuclear terrorist attack.
"People would paint this as teenagers in tinfoil hats" rallying behind the show, said Ingram, 50, an operations manager for two radio stations. "That's not what this is. These are educated professionals."
The show's daring premise, its writing and acting make the case for its survival, he said.
Several factors could work in the show's favor: It appeals to the young adult viewers sought by advertisers and was one of CBS' most popular shows streamed online, indicating an audience beyond that measured by traditional ratings.
CBS may also be considering the dent a long hiatus put in the show's viewership, the same scheduling misstep that hurt ABC's "Lost" and NBC's "Heroes."
The network apparently has been impressed by the display of viewer passion, which included the delivery of 50,000 pounds of peanuts to its New York offices. In the season finale, a character replies "Nuts!" to a demand that the beleaguered town of Jericho surrender.
That's the same response that a U.S. general in World War II made to a German demand for surrender at the Battle of the Bulge.
There's already been one positive outcome: CBS is donating the protest peanuts to charities, including one that sends care packages to troops overseas. |

I hope that dent was prevalent enough that they never do it again. People make fun of them all the time, but this is really where Survivor and American Idol trump the rest of TV. There is no hiatus...you just have fans sitting down week after week for an entire season to watch the programming. Then you know you'll be ready to watch more next year at the same time. This way, the show doesn't get stale (supposedly), and there's no break in viewership.
I would rather get a large chunck of the LOST story every winter than have it strung out to where I have no clue when it's on and when it's not.
Another interesting thing I note, particularly on NBC, is their Thursday comedy lineup. The critics touted "30 Rock", however it's pretty obvious the show has flustered greatly in viewership. They change the schedule of their lineup on an almost weekly basis. 30 Rock used to be the last show in the lineup, and I bet people were just shutting off after that, so they rearranged so that in order to see Scrubs and The Office, you would have to sit through 30 Rock - supposedly. I always make it a point to change channel during that one half-hour, no matter which timeslot it's in. |

Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, Deadliest Catch, Dog the Bounty Hunter & shows of the like do the same thing. They start a season & it goes non-stop (minus holiday weeks & such) until its over. There is no other way to do TV if ratings are what you want.
ABC said they won't do that again with LOST. However, they still suck. CBS still sucks for canceling a good series after THEIR dumb mistake.
I still stick by my view. Either continue a show or don't. I of course want to know how a show ends. However, I don't want a cheap ending for the sake of having an ending either. I wanna see how the series would have developed if not been cancelled. I think Jericho needs to move to another network willing to put it on instead of putting a half ass ending in 6 episodes.
I honestly could care less what anyone on broadcast TV does. I'm not watching ANY new shows until they change their ways.
I'm going to continue Heroes & LOST. I may watch American Innventor again (since the first season was great) but thats not a NEW show. Gotta love sticking to your word. _________________

I actually find myself watching WWE again, just because it's fresh...well, fresher than everything else. Isn't that sad?
Actually, I do more gaming than TV watching these last few weeks. Plus, I'm well into season 5 of 24 right now...dunno what I'll do when I finish that. I'll be a lost little Ravage, that's for sure.
On a similar note, Glenn Beck's show is probably my most consistent viewing experience, but any idea when Dirty Jobs starts back up? |

Dirty Jobs might be back after Deadliest Catch is done.
I'm not watching WWE. Unless its gets UBER again, I'm done with them. Sick of wasting my time. TNA is enough good wrestling for me. I just can't bear to see bad wrestling anymore. I'll develope an ulcer.
I watch Glenn's show pretty consistantly too. I listen to the radio show more than the TV show, especially since I'm an Insider. Plus, I got tickets to see his stage show when it comes to Columbus Friday. Should be uber. _________________

Are there still tickets? I was toying with the idea of going, but didn't when I heard it was totally non-political. |

So did they cancel Dirty Jobs, or is it just on hiatus? (sp?) |
