Last night, as d00g and I started watching TNA Impact, after seeing the first segment with Angle & Co., I said "I bet the 5th member is going to be a returning JJ"
Sure enough, at the end of the show...
And, I'm pretty pleased with that. If they had to bring JJ back (and you knew they were going to), this is at least a fresh way to do it. Lockdown should be good (except for the uber-ghey electric cage match). Actually, I have my doubts about an entire PPV in a cage...might get old real fast, but it's worth a try. And they're (gasp) letting women wrestle! There may actually be a chance for Gail Kim yet!
Anywho, you guys need to tape the PPV so's d00g and I can watch it (if it's any good).
For now, it seriously looks like Smackdown has all other wrestling shows completely outclassed, tho. Anyone watch last week? There was actual wrestling...good wrestling! |

NAGA PLEASE!
Anyone who knows ANYTHING about TNA saw that one coming a mile away Damin. I plan on taping it if Jared will let me.
The whole show being in a cage is sweet. We've seen the last two years of Lockdown. The first year was just cage matches, nothing special. Last year they spiced it up with the Lethal Lockdown (which was fantastic) & now this year they've spiced it up a lot. I still think the blindfold & electrified matches will be dumb (Russo, you suck) but the Lethal main event will rock the house. I too am glad that JJ came back this way. Hopefully he makes a good face run who doesn't dominate the title. _________________

Oh, k, I hadn't been watching TNA enough to let on if they were teasing the JJ homecoming.
I just figured since they made such a deal of it at the start of the show. |

No they didn't teast JJ coming back AT ALL. However, knowing their roster and all the guys who were already in the big main event match it was either going to be JJ or some new guy & I couldn't think of anyone from WWE that they could have gotten except maybe Show or Jericho. The easy pick was JJ since he'd been gone awhile & such. Predictable but good. Lets hope he doesn't turn heel at Lockdown cuz that would be gay. He needs a good face run cuz JJ is hillarious as a face. _________________

I've never really seen JJ as face, so I'm looking forward to it.
On a slightly related note, Smackdown was excellent again. It's to the point where, despite having nearly no talent left in the upper-card, and no focus on it by Vince & Co., it's consistently the best wrestling show of the week.
The only meh thing was the Kane/Daivari squash...other than that, MVP totally rocked in his match with Benoit. He could be really good someday. Deuce N Domino vs. London/Kendrick was one of the best tag matches I've seen in a long time. Taker/Batista vs. Kennedy/Finlay was very good, although I'm getting a little tired of Batista - I realize that we don't have many choices on the show, especially with Booker out for a couple months.
Oh, the semi-mobile dung heap that is Mizzark Henry is coming back. Can't say I'm happy about that at all, but with the recent pushes seen by Boogeyman and Khali....could I actually have something good to say about the World's Strongest Enema? No...not really.
Lastly, storywise, I'm really intrigued to see where the Teddy Long/Crystal angle is going. I hope it doesn't turn out ot be too soap-opera, but done correctly, I could see it being interesting. |

Okay...for as good as SD has been, RAW was absolutely horrible! I can honestly say there wasn't a single part of tonight's episode that I enjoyed. |

Nope, that absolutely sucked. After watching a solid PPV (Lockdown on Sunday) for a change, Raw literally put me to sleep. I slept through the main event. How many times are we going to see the same people fight each other?? I don't even care to watch HBK right now (sorry d00g). That's sad. What's sadder is that Smackdown is more interesting than Raw these days.
Oh, and giving the IC belt to a "plant" who is obviously some new star of theirs that has joined the company = LAME. Guess Umaga's big push is over, eh? It might have gone over big in Italy, since they seemed to know who the heck that guy was, but all of us here in the states are left going "WTF MATE?!"
Honestly, aside from the 2 Russo-inspired matches on Lockdown, I have to say that TNA finally recognizes that their fans aren't mindless idiots who fall for cheap parlor tricks and predictable storylines anymore. The blindfold match & the "electrified cage" gimmick was lame, even tho the match in the "electrified" cage itself was pretty good. The blindfold match sucked from every angle.
I'm tired of Vince doing the same old shtick. "Oh, we're in Europe! Let's make fun of the way they talk and pretend they don't understand English! Now they're chanting at me, so I better yell 'SHADDUP!' Now I'm going to fart around this ring for the first 20 minutes of the show and spin the show's wheels while my wrestlers sit in the back!" _________________

Well I gotta agree & disagree with both Dana & Damin. Raw sucked, yes but the first segment with Santino winning the IC title out of the blue is EXACTLY the thing that made the WWF awesome back in the day. Ya know why? cuz it meant that ANYTHING could happen on an episode of RAW. I expected a simple squash for Umaga, but continuing the fued with Lashley (which I don't care about cuz of Umaga) however it was still an awesome moment. The crowd was pumped up & it was something surprising. If you want to argue over the integrity of the IC title then you are about 8 years too late for that one. I enjoyed that & nothing else of RAW.
Lockdown however....was the bomb! The two matches that I predicted to suck did. Actually, thats not true. The blindfold match was the worst match I've ever seen...literally. The LAX vs 3D was a GREAT match but the whole electric cage was lame & not needed. They could have had a great match without that lame gimmick. Dixie Carter needs to get a clue about these lame match types. _________________

Dixie Carter? I think you can chalk that one up to Vince Russo.
Anywho, I would be against them dropping ANY title to Nameless McDontknowmyface, so the lack of prestige associated with the IC title is really irrelevant. I know we've discussed that many times before, anyway.
I honestly DON'T like knowing that just anyone can come along and win a title...that doesn't make the show more interesting, just more Chaotic (and remains one of my chief problems with efeds, including SoCal)
Can they pull a good angle out of the situation? Sure, if they push that dude to the moon, and he can keep up with the demands of that position. Still, it's just too much. I would totally have been cool with a simple win (a clean win even). |

Dixie Carter is on record as saying that the "Last Rights Match" wasn't his idea. Which leads me to believe that there are even more stupid people writing the TNA shows. Of course they pale to the WWE guys.
The efeds thing comes down to management. I'm hoping that the BWI will not be as "chaotic" as you think it will be. However, with that said, there needs to be an autmosphere that crazy things CAN happen because that is exciting too.
BTW, how am I getting Lockdown to you & d00g? _________________

lol, you may not be.
I don't plan on being back in C-bus until the end of May. I honestly didn't think the whole tape-thing through.
I guess just hang onto it, and if something happens that we all see each other earlier, we can get it.
I do know the results, but I would kinda like to watch the matches. |

Leave it, I shouldn't get anything important. I'll probably get credit card shit there until the day I die. I think I get more mail in Cbus than in Kent, just because of all the junk. |
