Well, that was a brilliant move by Discovery.... they should know better than to try and push those guys around w/contract legalism. They are fishermen, not actors to do their bidding. I would imagine they will all bail. Now they will loose far more $$$ than they will ever hope to recover in court.

Chances are high some of the other long time boats will be gone too. We already figured on possibly not seeing the Cornelia Marie. I'd be a bit suprised if the Wizard kept with it too.

Yes, definitely a bonehead move by Discovery. If they had camera crews following the Hillstrands around to do a spinoff, it should have been THEIR responsibility to get all the voiceovers & material they needed, not the captains'!

I read on the Cornelia Marie's website that they did get re-signed next season. Wonder if they'll change their tune now. The show is basically shredded at this point, with Phil gone and the Hansens & Hillstrands pulling out. All that's left is the barely-likeable Keith Coburn on the Wizard and that boring dude on the Kodiak. Keith is a good guy, though, so I'd also be surprised if he stayed with the show now.

So that's retarded. Surely Discovery was making enough that 3 million to risk losing a popular show is a bad move. Not quick thinking there, Lou.

Seriously though, I wonder what will be left on the show to watch by the time the next season hits. Or if it still will.
