It seems that MK is making a come back to the big screen. Check this out. Its a tad graphic so no saying I didn't warn you. Of course, it wouldn't be MK if it wasn't a little graphic now would it?

Supposedly the story behind this, is that it was made to show how Mortal Kombat could have been done. They are shopping it around and trying for a possible movie deal.

It's certainly interesting, but it's not Mortal Kombat.

I'd totally watch it, and possibly enjoy it, but it's kinda like doing an allegory of Star Trek where they're all just Naval officers on a submarine, and the Borg are just Chinese. Yes, interesting ideas, but really meaningless to the source material in the long run.

agreed Damin. MK is about Earth realm's fight against Outworld and those suffering in Outworld joining us from Earth to fight. People are "aliens" with powers. This clearly is ALL humans & is a perverted version of MK. One which I wouldn't do but I'd probably watch it...but be annoyed.

I'd even go so far as to say I could possibly really like it. However, it would have to be approached as pure allegory/reimagining and hold none of the mystique. If anyone busted out a fireball, it would become absurd. It COULD be done well, though.
