Here's a very interesting, funny, and sobering read from Cracked.com. It's about tricks played by video game companies to keep you playing...and BOY does it hit the nail on the head. Lol, it actually kinda made me feel bad about my MMO gaming, although not in a bad "finger shaking" way, but in a "am I really in a Skinner Box" way.

Worth a read. I'm sure it kinda hits home for pretty much everyone in our group - or at least those of us who've played UO, SWG, EQ, WoW, CoH, CoV, HG:L, AoC, EVE, DR, Aeon, GW, TR, STO...good lord...

Wow, that's pretty freaky. I guess deep down I've known all that, ever since they started issuing "veterans rewards" in SWG.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to check the Exchange to see if I can afford those blue Phaser arrays yet.

I read the article, it is all very true... but it isn't going to stop me from playing STO or games like it, if I enjoy playing them.
