Brilliant, you say?

I don't see anything here about WHAT they're doing, or even for sure that it'll be a dual update. However, Valve is usually pretty great at releasing these things, so we'll see.

They have also leaked a bunch of "Announcer" voice clips, where the announcer says stuff like "friendship has started", and her talking about betrayals and such. Really weird...and some folks have also found a picture of the usual TF2 classes in their usual group pose, only everyone's shirts are varying shades of reddish gray.

Possibly doesn't mean anything, but they could be talking about a new game mode, some speculation centers around the ability for someone to TK or FF...not likely, but this is definitely some good buildup to WHATEVER kind of update they're doing (class, map, game-mode, etc.) So I'm lookin' forward to it.

Good Lord.

That is almost EXACTLY how I've pictured that announcer woman in my head for the past 2 years, down to the cigarette, even!

LOL, guess I need to stop deleting all the dupes I get now.

Kinda wish I hadn't started trashing duplicates as soon as I got them.

indeed. the only reason I was killing them off was to open space for when hats dropped but THEN they increased the size of the bags. /sigh.

I just hope to make SOMETHING kool, even if its only 1 item.

The sword & shield idea is neat. I'm not sure how it will work out because any Demo equipping both will see a DRASTIC change in gameplay dynamics from the explosive-hurling cyclops we're used to.
That said, I'm totally excited, because I wasn't able to think of any good unlockable ideas for Demoman. I kinda hope the shield is a replacement for the pipe bomb launcher so that you can still sticky-jump, but now with sword & shield

SKY DEMOS UNTIE!

nah, the Shield (The Chargin’ Targe) replaces the sticky launcher. The Eyelander replaces the booze bottle. I'm ready to mess with it.

BTW - the first Soldier weapon is out. Its a precision rocket launcher. Sounds neat for us skilled aimers.

Not bad at all, although I'm not sure you'll see many soldiers using this after a while.

Reason being - splash damage accounts for most of the usefulness of a soldier. Same with Demo. I doubt any of the unlocks so far will be widely favored over the originals. That said, I'm totally pumped to play with them (that's what she said), and will definitely enjoy the new take on these fairly boring classes.

I am disappointed that the shield will take the sticky slot (ewwww), because a shield/sword Sky Demo would have been UBER!

full update is up tonight. 2 new maps, crafting, soldier & demoman update & damage reducing boots for the soldier for winning the contest (although not by much). Seems these boots were going to go to either class who won since they both do a lot of explosive jumping.
