Well done!

/Happy for you Smile
//also a tad jealous Wink
///ultimate and professional are supposed to have the XP emulated environment available, you'll have let me know if that works well enough to warrant buying professional instead of home.

Well, I went into the themeing, if that is what you mean Todd, and it can roll the environment (ie. the look of windows) back to Win2k. which looks shitty. I haven't seen a theme that would make it look like winXP... but my question is why would you wnat that. the layout of Win7 is far far better.

Todd, nevermind, I found what you were talking about

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

it is a virtual PC that will run on top of Windows & that runs winXP for programs that will not just work in compatability mode in Windows 7
And Todd is right it will not work on Windows 7 home premium.
I am downloading the 2 files required to do it, I am going to see that is does, but I haven't had any compatability issue with software or games running the Windows 7 RC1, so I don't think I am going to use this for anything at the moment.

I just got done installing WinXP mode for windows 7... I booted up the WinXP part.

you have to boot up the WinXP virtual machine to install WinXP software, but after that you can run them as if they were installed on Win7.... this is actually like the MacOS9 environment on Mac OS X. I think that is cool thing to include the virtual machine software for free if you get pro or ultimate.

Looks cool. Think if I had it I'd rather run it as the Win7 instead. I'm a big fan of a new cool look.

Looks like its pretty reliable. Odds are that I wouldn't need it, but you never know how a new OS will work with older obscure games. Looks neat anyway.
