phaser have a change to disable subsytems
tetryon have a chance to disable shields
plasma have a chance to apply a dot to the hull.
chroniton disable moving
anti-proton have a chance to disable weapons i think
@Damin - this might be why your Tetryon Cannons seem so effective against shields. This leaves me torn...I was planning on going with phasers (the chance to disable a random subsystem seems a good way to combine the affects of chroniton, anti-proton, and tetryon, plus it takes less skill points to max phaser skills) but the 2.5% proc on the phaser definitely seems less common than (for example) the 2.5% chance a disruptor has to decrease damage resistance (though I guess I am running 2 disruptors and only 1 phaser). How often do your tetryon weapons seem to disable shields?
@Jared - How many EPS consoles are you running, and what's the total + to energy transfer? Oh, and you're welcome _________________

I have a single EPS flow regulator (mk V or VI, I forget which) on my T3 cruiser. It's a blue and it has +2 to power transfer. I was using two 1.8 modules before I got it, which was slight overkill, since the blue handles my weapons power output just fine by itself. I'm running with four Mark VI Phaser arrays and two green Mark VI Quantum Torpedo launchers.
I ended up selling one of the old EPS modules for about 120K on the Exchange, and I'm keeping the other one as a secondary backup in case the blue doesn't handle all of my next ship's power.
Has anyone seen any bridge officers that can train High-Yield Torpedoes lvl III? I'm still using lvl I and would love to train it to one of my tactical officers... _________________
Sorry, but only tactical players and train tactical skills like High Yield III... I found this out after getting to Admiral... I attempted as an engineer to train or get trained for High Yield III, it is not possible... Engineers and only train the level III engineering abilities. Likewise, a Tactical player can't train level III engineering skills. _________________ "Never fear, I is here!"

been lovin' this game but was disappointed that not much was left to do...then I watched this vid. Pretty sweet stuff coming. So, while I'll still take my time through Captain & Admiral, I'm glad good stuff is still coming. STO just isn't going to be an MMO that I hit hard every night like WoW or SWG was. Sorry. We should totally plan a night or two during the week that we can all get on & play.
