I saw this earlier in the week and thought about posting it, but this woman is so stupid and clueless that it's literally painful to me. Except the video I saw was just of the woman speaking and didn't include the smarmy podcasters giving commentary afterward. This is the video I saw:
Admittedly, my very first thought was: "She isn't hot enough to be that dumb."
I tried to tell myself how courageous she was to even get up and try to be involved in her community -- that she at least deserves some credit for making an effort to try to participate in the political process and take an interest in it. But it's impossible to get past the simple fact that the only valid thing she said was that fruit grows on trees. We need to stop applauding people just because they "try." Effort without direction or thought frequently results in more harm than good. I mean, does she SERIOUSLY believe that people living on the east coast are still slaveowners?? That's not just ridiculous, that's dangerous imbecility and suggests a complete detachment from reality.
I know she's an extreme example of what's wrong with people today, but watching her speak in this video gave me, for the first time, an inkling of why politicians must think we're so stupid.
