You should read my review. I've been saying that people who read the comic will like the movie (because its a perfect translation from comic to screen) but those who haven't read it would hate the film.

I will agree with Adam... I never read the comic before seeing the movie. So for me it was a good/great movie, but it left me with alot of questions and confusion. I don't know if more detail was put in the comic itself, but I felt like alot of the background story was missing which made some of the movie very odd.

All-in-all, I am happy I saw it because it was definitely worth seeing.

In the books they went a little more in-depth with each character. It's understandable why they left some things out, since the movie is already 3 hours long. There was one chapter that focused on Dr. Manhattan, including why he doesn't wear clothes. Basically, he doesn't see the point. He can see all points in time simultaneously and is pretty much detached from what it's like to be human. Modesty is pointless to him, but he still recognizes the fact that society requires him to wear some kind of uniform when he's in public.

they did more for each characters chapter than I even anticipated. Also, the movie is only 2hours and 43mins I believe, not quite 3 hours but its a slow moving film and feels like 3+
