Well, that was a brilliant move by Discovery.... they should know better than to try and push those guys around w/contract legalism. They are fishermen, not actors to do their bidding. I would imagine they will all bail. Now they will loose far more $$$ than they will ever hope to recover in court. |

Chances are high some of the other long time boats will be gone too. We already figured on possibly not seeing the Cornelia Marie. I'd be a bit suprised if the Wizard kept with it too. |

Yes, definitely a bonehead move by Discovery. If they had camera crews following the Hillstrands around to do a spinoff, it should have been THEIR responsibility to get all the voiceovers & material they needed, not the captains'!
I read on the Cornelia Marie's website that they did get re-signed next season. Wonder if they'll change their tune now. The show is basically shredded at this point, with Phil gone and the Hansens & Hillstrands pulling out. All that's left is the barely-likeable Keith Coburn on the Wizard and that boring dude on the Kodiak. Keith is a good guy, though, so I'd also be surprised if he stayed with the show now. _________________

So that's retarded. Surely Discovery was making enough that 3 million to risk losing a popular show is a bad move. Not quick thinking there, Lou.
Seriously though, I wonder what will be left on the show to watch by the time the next season hits. Or if it still will. _________________
